Simplexo automates compliance while mitigating risk of data leakage
March 2009
Simplexo has launched a new technology solution for the public sector that enables central and local government departments to simultaneously search multiple disparate data sources across the organisation on demand. In the public sector, large volumes of information are stored across diverse systems and applications. This makes it difficult to find the right information at the right time, yet government bodies are duty-bound to provide reliable information in a timely and secure way.
Most search tools work on only one type of information, or require all information to be referenced via one massive central index. Simplexo is different.
Simplexo provides fast, accurate and comprehensive access to information, across networks and across data types - live and archived email, Office documents, databases, SharePoint and other content management systems, and many other applications. From a single click in Outlook or a browser-based interface, Simplexo simultaneously gathers fragmented information from these silos across the organisation in real time, and presents one consolidated, de-duplicated list of search results to the user.
Make better decisions faster
Recent research suggests that workers can spend up to 20 hours per person every week looking for the information they need - within their own organisation - to do their job effectively. Now, with live, up-to-date information available on demand without searching each data source individually, Simplexo enables public sector workers to improve decision-making and use their time more effectively.
Automate compliance
Many regulations, such as the Freedom of Information Act, require information stored by government departments to be made available on request. Simplexo enables users to more easily comply with this legislative and compliance framework by simultaneously searching diverse data sources and presenting accurate and de-duplicated results in real time.
Mitigate the risk of data loss and leakage
The loss and leakage of information has alarmed both the public and the government. Simplexo provides remote public sector workers with secure access to central confidential enterprise information sources, so even if a laptop is lost or stolen all data remains fully protected. Users see only the information they have permission to see, no data is left on the laptop once the Simplexo connection is closed, and security policies are never violated. Designed to MoD security levels (AED 256), Simplexo is totally secure.
Mike Davis, senior analyst at Ovum, an independent research analyst group, said recently that there are increasing operational and legislative demands for organisations to be able to retrieve information on demand.
Alistair Handyside, CEO, Simplexo, agrees: "It's imperative for public sector organisations to retrieve accurate information quickly and securely - both to provide public services effectively, and to remain compliant with regulatory requirements. Simplexo is a low-cost no-risk solution to information access that cuts no security corners."
Unlike other vendors who have just released roadmap plans for similar software, these capabilities are available from Simplexo now.
